About You	About You My name is Kent Dixon and I’ve been playing Guitar for 45 years mostly by ear. I have no formal music training other than classes. I’m drawn mostly to finger style guitar playing and just finger picking in general. I led worship in my church of Calvary Chapel Manassas from about 1994 till around 2004. While leading lead vocals played the guitar first half of service and the keyboard the second half. Since about 2005 I’ve played bass in our church band. My “gig count” is based on thousands of worship services. Worship is a different dynamic than simply leading a band, its tuning in to what the Lord wants to do in this particular body of believers.
Influences	Influences My influences musically for style sake only would have to be the Beatles, Chet Atkins ,Lindsey Buckingham and Doyle Dykes. Terry Clark who was part of the “Jesus Movement” of the 60’s and is one of my favorite worship leaders along with Paul Baloche. Blues, Soul and Jazz are musical styles I gravitate towards.
Experiences (e.g. places played and musical education)	Experiences (e.g. places played and musical education) My musical experience other than a practice gig or two would be mostly in the church leading the worship team of drums, keyboard, bass guitar, accoustic guitar and lead electric guitar. I have no formal music education other than classes when I was in high school. If there is a technique I want to master, I simply go to “YouTube” and follow the instructor. We never had this resource when I started playing.
